Untitled Poem #87
by Kenny Liu
--
As bright as a thousand suns
and as sharp as a guillotine's blade,
the moment of realization dawns on me.
And as blue skies and fluffy clouds,
singing birds and blue oceans are
swept away beyond my reach,
I run and yearn for that paradise.
And as day turns to night,
and clouds into rain,
I trip upon myself
and I scream and I cry
as I hurtle into the abyss of loneliness,
an insignificant soul among
a sea of melancholy faces.
